i would like to keep a mini fridge in my van.  now sure if i need a separate battery someplace that has charged via alternator or if there is an inverter that stores enough power to power the fridge while the van is not moving.  any ideas on a power supply?

Rexhan,
As far as I know inverters do not store power only convert a DC supply to AC.  The size of the inverter will be largely determined by the equipment plugged into it, i.e. a mini fridge.

An aux battery can be charged by your existing alternator when the engine is running but you must install an isolator that connects to both your batteries.

Hope this helps.  There are numerous YouTube videos which will give you a better picture of what I briefly described.

Good luck,
